The Trailhead is located 0.5 miles east of Highway B on East Bay Road.
The Catherine Wolter Wilderness Area covers 2,189 acres and includes 15 lakes and ponds. The Mark Musolf Family Trail (yellow) provides a variety of scenery, from lake views to hemlock and maple forests. The larger Aimer Lakes Loop (green) takes you past eight remote lakes, all with clear access paths. Carry-in boat access is allowed on all these lakes. The wilderness area’s secondary trails are, for the most part, overgrown and unmarked, and are not recommended. The secondary trail that goes around John Lake is quite nice, however, with luscious ferns and lake views.
